This time, we stayed at the red cabin...

We were once again at Potato Lake, and this time we stayed at the red cabin. Here Dave and Diane are playing together at the dining table... I love those views out the windows, right at the edge of the lake!

Here they are again...next to the fireplace in the main room of the cabin. I'm pretty sure that fireplace is gone now, and the cabin has been remodeled and made more comfortable. My cousin and her husband bought the red cabin from my sisters, and have made it into a nice place for their kids and grandkids to come and spend time together.

The kids enjoyed spending time together, and here they are, reading... Hello, Dave!

Here's Doug, in the bedroom upstairs in the red cabin. There were two bedrooms upstairs, and one downstairs.

Doug and Dave trying to coax a fish onto their hooks...

This is not a fish caught during the previous 'fishing' picture, but it is a nice one that Doug caught... He looks pleased.

The kids playing miniature golf in Park Rapids.

Here is Doug at that miniature golf course on the east side of town, I think.

And, here's Diane, getting ready to make her shot...

This is Dave trying his hand at making the old steam engine run. This was probably at the Logging Camp.

This shot may also be at the Logging Camp. Diane doesn't look like she is too sure about Dave's driving ability, but I think he has it covered....

Diane and Doug at a riding stable. She looks like she's having a good time.

This must have been a different time riding horses. Doug is wearing a different shirt. Funny how you lose track of how you spent your time. Everything gets sort of jumbled in your mind as the years go by. Some memories are crystal clear, and others are more illusive... But, it is good to know that Doug's bad experience riding in the scout program didn't totally destroy his willingness to give it another try!

New sign at the lake...there were several different signs we used to let people know where our road was located. I don't think this one stayed very long.

This sign didn't stay long either.

I have spent days and days looking at catalogs over my lifetime. I was usually looking for holiday gifts...

Here I was getting the holiday cards ready to mail...

This was probably taken earlier, when Diane was younger. But, she was pretty brave to climb up that high in the ranger tower! She doesn't look too confident, though. It's sort of scary way up there!

In this photo, that's me in the dark t-shirt, with Dave on my right, and Doug behind me. I think we were at Muskie Days in Nevis, Minnesota...

Yep...Muskie Days! There is Diane next to the big 'fin,' and Doug and Dave standing by her. We Americans seem to like giant statues of fish, coffee pots, tepees, and other icons of our lives.

And, here's Doug, getting ready to hit the ball with a 'Potato Lake' bat...a big, heavy stick!

More to come...
